Photographing the shrinking landscape is something I've been doing for years. A few months ago, I realized that I would never be able to take the scope of this work nationally. Where I'm living always takes precident, be it in rural Georgia where I was or surburban Florida where I'm at now. This is meant to be a collabrative effort. I'll be the first to admit I have no idea how this will grow and what it will become, but it's my hope that someone will take up the cause with me. Truly the only way for those of us what are concerned is to work together in showing what's happening all over the United States. This is why I did this. I've met plenty of people; artists, farmers, ranchers, students and rednecks, who all share the same concern for the land. Fighting to perserve the land is a local event that deserves to be documented and saved. If we win, then it's a record of success. If we fail, then we have a record of how things where. Keep writing letters and keep fighting developers. From little acorns big oaks grow. |
